Frequently Asked Questions
What is QR Code Tools Online?
QR Code Tools Online is a free collection of browser-based QR and barcode utilities — QR generator, QR reader, WiFi QR, vCard QR, barcode generator, and QR art generator — that run entirely in your browser.
Are these tools really free?
Yes. All tools are completely free with no hidden fees, no premium tiers, no credit limits.
Do my QR codes expire?
No. Codes generated here are static — they encode the content directly. They scan forever with no server dependency, no link rot, and no service shutdown risk.
Is my data sent to your servers?
No. Generation and decoding both run in your browser. URLs, WiFi passwords, contact information, and uploaded images never leave your device.
What QR error correction level should I use?
Level M (~15%) is a good default. Use Q (~25%) for small print runs that may smudge, and H (~30%) when you embed a logo — only H can survive the logo overlay.
Which barcode formats are supported?
The Barcode Generator supports Code 128 (any text), EAN-13 / EAN-8 / UPC-A (retail), Code 39 (legacy industrial), and ITF-14 (logistics).
Why does my barcode value get rejected?
EAN-13 requires exactly 12 or 13 digits with a valid check digit. UPC-A requires 11 or 12 digits. Code 39 accepts only A–Z, 0–9, and a few symbols. Code 128 accepts any ASCII and is the safest default for arbitrary text.
Can I add a logo to my QR code?
Yes — use the QR Art Generator. Keep the logo under ~20% of the QR area and set error correction to H for maximum scannability.
Why does my QR with custom colors fail to scan?
Usually low contrast. Use a dark foreground on a light background; reverse colors break many scanners. Always test-scan with a real phone before printing.
Can I use these tools on my phone or tablet?
Yes. All tools are fully responsive and work on any modern mobile browser.
